Meaning behind it all...
~ The Blissful Grind ~
No, in fact, the grinding is not the type of grind you do in dance clubs.
Grind, by definition, refers to labour and drudgery. That's exactly what I am referring to.
I have juxtaposed "Blissful" , joyful, elated word with the heavy, uneasy, "grind". I recall sometime in high school as I was learning about greek mythology, I came across the story of Sisyphus where he had to constantly roll a heavy boulder upa hill only to watch it roll back down at the end of the day. There's also the story of Prometheus where a great eagle eats his liver on a daily basis. Both these stories are analogous in terms of repeated eternal suffering.... or so it was told.
Here comes the interesting twist, what if, what IF, the punishment is not so much a suffering. What if they don't find it painful anymore at some point, or at all from the very beginning. A philosophical article I [was forced to] read during high school mentions that eventually, Sisyphus may actually enjoy the repeated task of moving the boulder up. He will learn that he in fact has the ability to push the heavy boulder up the hill, with nothing else to worry about. As he watches the boulder roll down again, and his walk back down the hill from the top, he has all the time he needs to recover. What really is there to worry about?
Anyhow, the idea behind all this is that repeated task, labourous and tiring work, can also be fun and enjoyable. It really is just a matter of how you see it.
I have revamped my personal website to have it as somewhat of a portfolio and for myself to keep track of what I have been working on, and hopefully showcase some of my work to you all as well.
The reason I named my site Blissful Grind is that I know it will be tough. For sure it will be. I will need to spend countless days learning, doing, thinking, and still I will not achieve it. There will be repeated tasks, labourous, teadious, uneventful, and even boring work. Yet, those, I must overcome. I feel that as long as I find what I am most passionate, and most interested in, I will achieve. No matter the difficulties. I shall, and I will overcome!!
